Improving a person’s living situation can make a world of difference. Rayim provides a variety of residential services so that individuals with developmental disabilities can benefit from the balance of care and independence that works best for them.

For parents who feel that their child would benefit from living in a different home setting, the Rayim Family Care Program offers the best solution. Rayim finds warm and devoted families who are willing to share their love and compassion with a child in need. Those families go through training and certification by NYS OPWDD to ensure that they understand the responsibilities of caring for an individual in need of special services, and have the skills required. Rayim staff visits with each family on a monthly basis to ensure that all of the child’s needs are being met, and assists the care provider with all support needed.
This living arrangement is most beneficial for lower-functioning adults who need 24-hour support or supervision within a residential setting. Rayim currently operates one IRA group home for individuals with certain special needs.
The residence is located in a beautiful house, on spacious grounds and in close proximity to all of the services our residents need. Devoted staff members tend to the needs of our residents on a continuous basis, and their medical needs are consistently monitored by Rayim’s professional RN. Our residents also enjoy a very heimishe environment on Shabbos and Yom Tov, with the support of special staff members who ensure that residents experience a lovely family setting.
ISS apartments allow higher-functioning adults to live independently with minimal support. Rayim assists ISS apartment candidates in preparing an annual budget that is submitted to NYS OPWDD for review. Approved candidates can then choose an apartment to live in, and receive assistance in negotiating rental costs with the landlord, signing a lease, and ensuring that the living conditions are appropriate
Rayim ISS residents continue to receive support in the form of rental payments, reimbursements for daily living expenses, and assistance with any issues that arise related to their residence. This program has enabled numerous individuals to be more independent in their living arrangements.
